Selby Abbey
這個教堂名字聽起來可能有點兒陌生
但… 一說出這是周杰倫結婚的教堂，相信大家就會喔喔喔！
哈哈～ 沒錯！自從周董和昆凌在英國結婚之後
他們所選擇的教堂和宴客城堡，便開始大紅大紫！
遊學團＆觀光客自然也不可能錯過這個觀光勝地囉！
2015.7.18. 這是我到英國的第一個週末
還好老天爺還有給我們一點點面子，天氣不是太糟糕 🙂
這間教堂已經有超過900年的歷史囉！
一直很喜歡歐洲的建築，尤其是教堂，不論大大小小老舊還是新潮
進來教堂時便被裡面的莊嚴所震懾
當然也可能是從小電影看太多啦～
所以，對教堂一直有種莫名的嚮往 >///<
好美好美啊啊啊啊啊啊啊！
牧師跟我們說，當初周杰倫來此結婚時，消息是大封鎖，而且他們每個人都還有簽保密協定
（我猜歪國人根本不知道周董在亞洲世界是如此赫赫有名XD）
而自從這個世紀大婚禮舉辦之後
每個禮拜一定會有像我們這樣的旅行團或遊學團或亞洲遊客來參觀
也算是感謝周杰倫啦
讓教堂生意強強滾！（呃～這句是我自己加的～）
人家牧師是說他真的很開心教堂的美能夠被大家所發現！！！
這麼美的地方，當然是忍不住拿起相機瘋狂拍攝
只是我的學生們似乎大部份都無法欣賞這樣的美
只逛了半小時就開始划起手機（咦）
國外的教堂彩繪窗都很精緻!
我覺得這可能有點像外國人來台灣都很喜歡看我們的廟宇一樣
我實在不知道我們的廟有什麼好看，但他們就是很愛看
或許歪國人也覺得教堂都長的差不多… 但～ 我就是愛看呀！！！
你們看看～～～這麼美的地方怎麼可以在那邊滑手機ㄚ！！真是的～（覺得可惜）
我發誓我真的不是崇洋媚外…
真的覺得好美！！
還有還有～～ 教堂的柱子有好多符號和數學公式的感覺，我以為是什麼咒文咧… （神鬼傳奇看太多）
經過與牧師請教才知道
原來這些都是當初的建築工人在上面做的記號
當天做到哪裡，他們就會做記號，這也代表著他們做了多少工可以跟工頭領多少錢
看看老師我，是否很認真的在學習！！！
到國外就是要多多文化交流～ 有事問問題，沒事也要問問題～ 才會學的又快又多嘛！
來此一遊，除了朝聖以外，腦袋也長知識囉 ^^
HONESTY BOX 中文翻譯就是誠實箱
誠實箱是幹什麼用的呢？
工作人員解釋：
如果櫃檯沒有人在的時候
這個箱子的用意就是希望遊客們可以將自己想買物品的金錢放入箱子中
簡單來說就是自由心證～！
我感覺這是件很神奇的事
我當然知道廟裡燒香拜拜也有自由心證的香油錢
但這是個gift shop耶！
工作人員跟我說，大家還真的都有把錢放進去honesty box裡
因為他們在點存貨時，錢都是有對的，沒有什麼虧損狀況
還跟我說可能是因為教堂的關係，所以大家也不太好意思做壞事
anyway，我覺得這真的是件很棒的事！
買了幾張明信片和書籤卡片之後，我們就去鎮上小小散步一下
看了好想買啊！so cute～～～
小鎮風情… 浪漫也輕鬆
很喜歡這樣的感覺～
上半天行程結束囉！準備前往周杰倫婚禮宴客的城堡啦！！！（大到走不完的地方呀）

Selby Abbey has been a place of Christian worship for over 900 years since it was founded as a monastery for Benedictine monks in 1069. In the 16th century, King Henry 8th closed down all the Abbeys & monasteries in England including Selby. The monks were sent away and most of the monastery buildings have disappeared over years. From then on Selby Abbey has been a Church for prayer and worship for the people of Selby town and it is still an active Christian Church today. (In the days of monks it was a Catholic Church, but it then became an Anglican Church and part of the Church of England).
The Abbey Church was built in 2 stages. When you enter the Abbey by one of the main doors, you find yourself in the oldest part (the Nave) which they started building in the years 1100. In the days of the monastery this part of the Church was used by the townspeople.
The other half of the Abbey, through the oak screen and with the wooden pews (benches) and the High Alter (with scenes from Christ’s life and part of the Easter story behind) was an extension in the 14th century. This part of the Church used to be only for the monks, but now everyone can enjoy all parts of the buildings. This part of the Abbey was where Jay Chou & Hannah Quinliven had their marriage ceremony on 17th January 2015, led by Canon John Weetman, the vicar (Senior Priest) of the Abbey and Pastor Abraham Ku, of Taipei New Life Church.
For that occasion, the Nave was cleared of chairs and filled with trees and flowers, candles and decorations as Hannah and her father walked through it on a red carpet to meet Jay before they walked through the oak screen together. After the ceremony it was filled with tables and chairs for a tea party for them to celebrate with their family & friends.
